G&B represents numerous mineral owners in oil and gas lease transactions. Clients include trust departments of major banks, one of Texas’ largest ranching operations, and many families, individuals, and estates. In addition to assisting in negotiations with energy companies and supplying its sophisticated oil and gas lease forms, G&B attorneys frequently work on the documentation and distribution of trusts and estates with significant mineral assets.
Mineral owner representation can involve many other issues. The Patent shown to the right, which had been issued by mistake and conflicted with a patent under which G&B’s clients derived title, was cancelled as a result of G&B’s efforts. According to personnel at the Texas General Land Office, this was the first time the State of Texas had ever cancelled a land patent.
