Elizabeth (Liz) M. Branch is of counsel for GB&C. Originally from Dallas, Liz attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she majored in journalism with a business concentration. After graduating in 1998, she attended law school at the University of San Diego School of Law. In law school, Liz was a member of USD’s nationally ranked Mock Trial team, a board member of the Women’s Law Caucus and a teaching assistant for Civil Procedure and the Legal Research and Writing class. She received her Juris Doctorate in 2001. After graduating from law school, Liz practiced with a San Diego law firm specializing in labor and employment law, was active in pro bono activities, and in 2002, she received the Wiley W. Manuel award from the State Bar of California for her pro bono services.
Liz is licensed to practice law in both Texas and California. In 2004, Liz returned to Austin, Texas, where she worked in the areas of employment law, business, consumer and contract litigation.
Liz became of counsel to GB&C in 2012, and is active in the firm’s oil, gas and energy practice.
Liz has served on the Board of the Austin Young Lawyers’ Association. She served as an officer from 2009-2012. In this capacity, Liz has chaired the Women’s Resource Fair since 2007, co-chaired Bench Bar from 2005-2007 and has been active in the Bar & Grill show and Holiday Baskets. She has also served on the Board of Travis County Women Lawyers’ Association, where she has chaired the Color of Justice program. She received the Travis County Women Lawyers’ Association’s President’s Award in 2008 and the President’s Award of Merit from the Austin Young Lawyers’ Association for the 2007-2008 Bar year.
